Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on his debut against Newcastle

Ronaldo scored twice as Manchester United beat Newcastle 4-1 on Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford.

He converted from close range just before the half-time interval to break the deadlock.

Ronaldo restored United’s lead with a fine finish in the 62nd minute by sending in Javier Manquillo for Newcastle to score their first goal.

A stunning long-range shot from outside the box by Bruno Fernandes curled into the top corner. In the closing seconds, substitute Jesse Lingard scored the fourth.

Premier League leader United now has 10 points after the win.

In Newcastle’s first four matches, they’ve managed just one point.
